For those who want to get away to Sausalito, Calif., Lois and Bob have a unique proposition for accommodations. They offer a two bedroom houseboat on Airbnb which they call "A Floating Guest Cottage." Airbnb is a company based in San Francisco, Calif., that offers alternatives to traditional travel accommodations.
Located in the Yellow Ferry Harbor, the houseboat is about 12 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. Lois and Bob, the owners of the houseboat, live in the houseboat next to the "cottage" and are available to help with knowing where to go and what to see when visiting the Bay Area.
The main floor of the cottage has a potbelly, gas stove to heat the area on cool nights and a comfortable couch to relax on with a good book.
The dining area is designed to easily seat six.
The kitchen and living area are joined together with an open floor plan that makes the space feel nice and roomy.
A full-sized kitchen with a gas range makes cooking for your family and any friends who may come over quite easy. Plenty of counter space is also available.
Stairs lead up to the second floor and the master bedroom which has a double bed.
An outdoor patio is perfect for eating on during good weather.
A full-sized bathroom has a shower and flush toilet.
The queen-sized bed is on the main floor with the kitchen and sitting area.
Living on the water can be a calming experience. With a houseboat, you truly have oceanfront property and get to enjoy the cool wildlife of the Bay up close and personal. Tiny living works as well on a boat.
