Take a tour through the "Itty Bitty Bungalow": A DIY renovation

When Bradley Huber bought his first home, he knew next to nothing about home improvements. But he took the plunge anyway and started renovating the Rochester, New York, bungalow one room at a time. His DIY adventures are all recorded on his blog, appropriately sharing a name with the 860 square foot house, Itty Bitty Bungalow.
Being a school teacher, sticking to a budget for his home improvements was a priority for Bradley. So with the help of friends, family, and YouTube tutorials, he was able to do almost all of the work himself. The decor is traditional and eclectic with plenty of thrift store finds incorporated throughout each space. Take a look at the full tour below.

The original wood trim was one of the things Bradley first loved about the house, and the living room showcases it beautifully. He installed the gas fireplace himself, and built the wood mantle around it. A stack of suitcases serves as a unique side table.
The living room features neutral gray wallpaper and a rug made from carpeted tiles. Rug tiles are a great option as they are affordable and easy to clean or switch out if stains occur.
The small but functional kitchen features classic black and white tile floors which provide a great contrast with the vibrant yellow walls. A vintage stove and tin backsplash complete the look.
The bedroom is soothing and welcoming with soft green walls and fluffy bedding. A chest at the end of the bed provides additional storage, essential for small space living.
The hexagon tile flooring in the bathroom is the original tile from when the house was built in the 1930s. Bold blue walls and and crisp white trim highlight the architectural details of the room. Bradley installed classic subway tile for the bath surround.

The porch was once enclosed and painted pink! Bradley brought out its true potential by opening up the walls, painting the walls and floor, and adding furniture including a traditional rocking chair. Now the space provides a welcoming entry to the home.

Though this tiny Victorian cottage only boasts 425 square feet, it's filled to the brim with Southern charm and enchanting details.
