Take a tour of this charming 1938 cottage: you'll love the interior

When Stacy Risenmay and her husband bought this historic cottage built in 1938, it needed a lot of work. Luckily Stacy was up for the challenge; she loves decorating, painting, DIY projects, and she definitely isn't afraid of power tools. She chronicles all of their home improvements on her blog, Not Just a Housewife
The living space in the house is only about 1,300 square feet; and with four boys, the family makes good use of every square inch. They utilize wall shelves in almost every room, and the closets are super organized. Aside from efficiency the home is beautiful as well! It's clear that each space has been decorated with love.
The family room is a favorite place for the family to spend time together. The bright windows and color-organized books make for a cheery atmosphere.
An eclectic, staggered gallery wall above the sofa uses photos as well as unexpected items such as the framed plant and door knob.
Stacy painted the kitchen cabinets herself. The checkerboard pattern on the ceiling is a playful twist on the traditional black and white checkerboard floor.
Open shelves and industrial lights above the window give the kitchen a farmhouse style look. The L--shaped shelves were built by Stacy with brackets from IKEA and stained wood.
The bright white office is another lesson in efficient storage and DIY handiwork. Stacy painted her worn wood floors white with black stripes and the results are beautiful. She also made the floating shelves that are equipped with drawers for extra storage.
The office is also used as a storage room, a mud room, and a music room - so storage is essential. This wall of bins and baskets is attractive and functional.
Another painted ceiling is featured in the master bedroom. A gallery wall of family photos and a romantic chandelier finish the look.
The boys room includes these playful bunk beds. Stacy used some parts of a store-bought bed frame and built the rest herself.

A completely renovated tiny bungalow.

No matter how much of a minimalist you are, there's always a need for just a little more storage. You might be a storage whiz already, but you can probably make space for at least one of these ideas even if you think you've maxed out all your space!

If you're the kind of person who likes their own space, then sharing a tiny home with someone else might seem like a nightmare. However, peace and quiet are way easier to find when you have the option of retreating to a different floor of the house!
