Man gives away his $30,000 tiny home to help and raise awareness for homeless

Lamon Luther, a custom furniture company in Douglasville, Ga., is giving away a tiny home worth over $30,000 in a raffle on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, according to 11 Alive news. The reason Lamon Luther gives for the giveaway is to enable the company to hire 100 more workers by 2017. 11 Alive reports that the goal of the company is to raise $500,000 through the raffle.
Lamon Luther's mission, according to Tiny House Giveaway, is to help change lives by employing homeless people and teaching them the trade of crafting furniture, believing that, "A man with a job is a force to be reckoned with." The company uses reclaimed wood and has in recent years been called upon to build tiny homes along with custom furniture. The company has said, "We give a hand up instead of a handout."

According to Tiny House Giveaway, the tiny house that's being raffled is custom-built and 386 square feet. It has a full kitchen and bath and two sleeping lofts. The kitchen has a four burner range, a stainless steel sink and a refrigerator/freezer combo. Butcher block countertops can be seen throughout the kitchen, and beautiful wood floors are throughout the home. A flush toilet is in the bathroom, and a barn track door helps save space.
The tiny home showcases the beautiful craftsmanship of Lamon Luther, and whoever wins the raffle will not only have a beautiful tiny home but also have the joy of knowing that he or she helped employ someone in need.
