Lady builds her own tiny home after her kids grow up

M. J. Boyle's tiny home journey is unlike any other.
In a touching letter on her blog "My Empty Nest," Boyle tells exactly what tiny living means to her. She had moved and built her own tiny home after her two kids grew up and moved away.
She writes on her blog, "Dear Tiny House --- For the past 15 months I have poured every spare moment, dollar, and ounce of emotional energy into you and now; you’re done."

Let's take a tour of the inside.
Upon the entrance, we're immediately greeted to a cozy sitting area.
The kitchen is rustic and chic.
There's extra storage space for wine and mason jars.
Boyle has made sure to handcraft her home with love. It's written all in the details.
There's meaning in all the little bits and pieces. For instance, this quote that sits above the kitchen sink:
Here's a picture of the shower:
Bespoke details and memories exist everywhere.
Those details exist even on the coat rack. We're in love with the knobs and the "wallpaper."
Custom storage staircase leads up to the loft.
Here's what the loft looks like:
Lastly, here's Boyle snuggled in a blanket and enjoying a good book. While Boyle originally named her tiny house "My Empty Nest" as a reflection of her life situation, she ultimately concludes on her blog, "You have helped me see that no matter where my kids are, and even if I am your only official occupant, you will never ever be truly empty."
The sweat, heart, and creative energy Boyle put in her place of living gave her a much renewed perspective on life. She only wishes the same for the future occupant of her home.
Boyle's advice to others interested in tiny living? "Tiny houses are a very personal expression of who you are and the better you know yourself, your goals, priorities, and the life you want to live; the better you will design or choose a tiny house that is perfect for you."
