Once you take a look inside, it's no wonder why the Eagle Point Cabin won a design NWAIA Honor Award in 2013.

The cottage's location keeps it protected from the harsh winter winds and hidden from the neighbors. The sod roof and unfinished wood siding help it blend in with the surrounding landscape.

From a distance, no one would be able to tell the sophistication hidden in this cabin. It almost looks like a fisherman's cabin. Yet, however, the way the cabin matches its environment perfectly is part of its undeniable charm.

But once inside, it becomes clear that's not the case. With a "layout that looks bigger than its actual 688 ft2 (63.9 m2) size," the interior is designed with "extensive wood windows, custom cabinetry and high-end finishes."

The living room has huge windows that offer extensive views of the ocean and the nearby Olympic Mountains.

The light and sun exposure of the house keeps it warm and bright even during winter. According to Prentiss Architects, the sun light actually "is significant enough that the client almost never uses the radiant heaters or wood stove."

A wall of windows in the kitchen facing the ocean? Not a bad way to start the day.
