We love DIY projects! And quite honestly, the easier the better. These simple projects are a great way to get your home organized without breaking the bank or your timepiece. If you're looking for fun ways to tackle personal organization, check out a few of these fun ideas.
1. Repurpose a stool to create storage, by 2LittleHooligans

A project that could hardly get any easier. All you need is an old stool, a few wheels, some fabric and bias tape. If you really want to keep it simple, buy a cloth laundry bag and skip the cutting and sewing needed to make the handy pockets. This project takes less than 2 hours and makes storing wrapping paper a snap!
2. Turn a shelf into a bench with storage, by MommyVignettes.
This bench project is almost as easy as it looks. You'll need a bookcase (solid, but inexpensive works fine), foam, an MDF board, legs, batting and fabric. This project should easily take less than 2 hours. You can personalize the project by painting the shelf, choosing different fabrics and opting for funky baskets to hold items.
3. Repurpose crates to create a storage shelf, by C.R.A.F.T.
If you are looking for a storage craft that's basically dummy proof: this is it. All you need is five crates and your choice of stain. Sand each crate, and paint the color of choice, then stack at will. You may want to screw the entire storage unit together if you have kids or pets that are prone to knocking things over.
4. Turn a bed headboard into a hanging rack, by My Repurposed Life
Did the kids outgrow their bed? Don't toss the headboards! Trim the tall parts of legs, sand them down, repaint them and attach solid hooks to create a one-of-a-kind coat rack. This piece would look great in an entryway, and at a bargain price! Plus, you can customize it to fit your decor. Win!
5. An old chest becomes a mini-office thanks to Martha Stewart
If your home lacks room for an office space, this double-duty chest may be the perfect solution, and it takes very little effort. You'll need to find file folder containers that are just a bit skinnier than the inside of your chest. Insert. Add two layers of cork to the lid (using cork glue) and add storage shelves to finish it off. You can literally close the lid on work when you're done for the day.
6. Turn an old file cabinet into garage storage, by Tttreasure
Yep, that beauty above used to be a filing cabinet. You'll need sand and repaint (or don't if you like to keep things simple) the cabinet. Then attach it to a wood base with wheels. Attach a peg board and hooks to the ends of the cabinet for hanging stuff, and presto. A convenient place to keep yard tools (and you can move it around as needed). Bonus: It's super easy to clean!
7. A crib turns into a loft toddler bed with storage underneath in the hands of Adriel Booker
If you're working with a tiny toddler space, any extra room can help. Convert an old crib into a loft-style toddler bed and get a bit of extra storage space underneath. Simply cut down the exterior crib "wall" to make room for your little one to crawl in, raise the crib to full height and add a ladder. Ta-da!
8. Yiconglu turns folding chairs into a very much needed closet space.
There's crafty and then there's genius. If your tiny home lacks closet space, this fun option may work great for you. All you have to do is hang them on the wall. Make sure to attach them so the chair folds out towards you. You can use the seats to store books, boxes or games, and hang clothing or coats from the base.
9. Create a rotating rack for the kitchen, by From House To Home via Hometalk

This lazy-Susan spin off (pun intended) is a great solution for your kitchen drawer mess!  You can personalize this project by painting the wood different colors and choosing fun hooks to drill into the board. Simply attach to the space under an overhanging cupboard for instant organization!
