Enjoy all the comforts of a traditional home in this houseboat.

Tied to the end of a dock in Bella Coola, British Columbia, the Float House Inn offers a great way to get a taste of tiny living in the surroundings of what locals refer to as "paradise." Bella Coola's website points out that the valley sits 62 miles (100km) inland from the Pacific Ocean and is considered to have a temperate climate. The ways to access the valley are by road from Williams Lake, by air or by boat.
The Float House Inn is, in reality, a houseboat that has been turned into a private hotel for four. Its website states the deck is free from obstructions and gives a great view when sitting, relaxing and enjoying the weather and scenery. Since the boat is at the end of the dock, no other boats get in the way and block the scenery.

In the main cabin, couches are available for relaxing indoors. One can be transformed into a double bed to accommodate extra people.

The kitchen table comfortably seats four; but if you have company over, the couches can be used, or everyone can gather on the deck to eat.
A full-sized kitchen makes fixing meals easy. A recent Facebook post shows that the kitchen counters have been recently tiled to update the look from the yellow-green below to something a little more modern.
The master bedroom offers a double bed, and the reading lamps at the head of the bed allow individuals to read at night without disturbing the other person.
For a "tiny house," this home has a roomy bathroom. A full-sized, stand-up shower keeps you from feeling squashed. The room also contains the sink and toilet.
The exterior of the Inn is beautifully decorated with flower boxes, and the owners have a herb garden that they allow occupants to use for cooking.
The deck at night makes a great place to have a romantic dinner for two. The picture perfect view helps set the tone.
Having a great experience when testing out the idea of tiny living will make all the difference between whether you decide to embrace it or walk away. Being forced to "suffer" in paradise to do a test drive on tiny living makes the experience all that much sweeter. Some time on the Float House Inn may be all you need.
