This cute cottage designed by Sara Phipps is an eclectic vintage dream. Before the remodel Phipps described it as "one of the saddest, dingiest little places" she had ever seen. But with some paint, a little love, and an eye for preserving vintage style; The Sparrow House is now a bright and happy bungalow.
Why is it called The Sparrow House? Check out the adorable sparrow patterned wallpaper in the kitchen! Along with the wallpaper, special and unexpected choices of finishes and accessories were made in every room. The result is a cozy retreat (and now a vacation rental!) ready for hosting visitors.
The kitchen features cute sparrow wallpaper that highlights the vaulted ceilings. A vintage style refrigerator adds to the home's retro-chic vibe.
The kitchen cabinets were painted a cool and trendy mint green. The vintage hardware was preserved as well as the original farmhouse sink. The counter tops were redone in stainless steel.
Laminate flooring in a vintage wood finish was installed in the living room; an affordable and durable choice. The combination of a teal wall, a burnt orange sofa and yellow rug prove that bright and bold can still be chic.
The dining area feature a custom table and new gas stove. The area can double as an office area thanks to the addition of a well-placed desk.
The tiny bedrooms doesn't feel cramped thanks to soothing gray walls and crisp white trim. Clear table lamps also help the room from feeling too cluttered.
