Mom shows off self-built, 232-square-foot tiny home that fits whole family

From the outside, Macy Miller's home doesn't look all that spacious. After all, it's only 232 square feet. However, Miller, her partner, their two children (she was pregnant with baby number two at the time this video was filmed), and their Great Dane all manage to squeeze cozily into this tiny property.
The home, which Miller designed and constructed herself in Boise, Idaho, serves as the inspiration for her website, Mini Motives. There, she explains that her house cost a total of two years and $13,643.31 to build. She moved into the space in June 2013.

On her website, Miller discusses her liberating transition to tiny home living, explaining, "It was not difficult for me, I am a pretty minimalistic person, I was excited to sell all my junk and be free of the burdens that seem to accumulate over time."
While Miller's FAQ section answers questions about everything from her toilet (the $2,000 item was the most expensive part of the project) to her building materials, she comically discusses the logistics of living alongside a Great Dane in such a small space. She writes, "Great Danes are very lazy animals, the hardest part of Denver’s day is deciding whether to lay on his bed, my bed, or the couch."
